Bus Simulator 27 System Requirements

Steam minimum and recommended specs for Unreal Engine 5 Felicia Bay, with a warning that other store pages can differ.

Last updated:

System Requirements

Cite Steam for Bus Simulator 27’s PC requirements. That is the table this page copies. Epic Games Store and other storefronts have listed different processors, GPUs, RAM, or storage in coverage and older snapshots. If two tabs disagree, believe Steam for this wiki and treat the rest as a reminder to re-check the store you will actually buy from before 8 September 2026.

The full game remains upcoming: full launch on 8 September 2026, Year 1 Advance Access from 3 September 2026. A Steam demo has been playable since 15 June 2026. That demo is a beta-status build, not the finished product, but it is still the only public way to see whether your PC likes Unreal Engine 5 traffic in Mequina and long views toward Alcaztelar.

Steam minimum

ItemSteam minimum
OSWindows 11 64-bit
ProcessorIntel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Memory16 GB RAM
GraphicsNVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 580
DirectXVersion 12
Storage20 GB available space

Windows 11 is the Steam floor, not Windows 10. If a third-party article still quotes Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM, or a 40–50 GB install, that is a different store snapshot or an older line — not the Steam table above.

ItemSteam recommended
OSWindows 11 64-bit
ProcessorIntel Core i7-14100KF / AMD Ryzen 5 9600X

GraphicsNVIDIA GTX 2080 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT

Two jumps matter more than the CPU names: 16 GB versus 32 GB of RAM, and a decade-old 1060/580-class card versus a 2080 Ti / 7800 XT-class card. Felicia Bay is a 20-district map with two cities, passengers, traffic events, and Unreal Engine 5 lighting. Recommended is the line for people who want headroom on the coach run, not only a playable city loop.

Storage is 20 GB on both Steam rows. Install on an SSD if you can; this page will not invent a required NVMe model.

Store pages can differ

Epic and secondary write-ups have circulated other figures (different CPUs, a GTX 1070-class minimum in some articles, larger storage numbers). This wiki will not merge those rows into one fake “official” table. Practical rule:

  • Buying on Steam → use the tables on this page.
  • Buying on Epic, Microsoft Store, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S → read that store’s own spec block the week you pay.
  • Console hardware is fixed; the Steam table is not a PS5 or Series X promise.

If you keep a screenshot of the Steam page from an earlier month, refresh it. Requirements can move during a pre-order period.

What the demo actually told players

The 15 June 2026 Steam demo opened during Steam Next Fest. Feedback on performance was loud enough that Simteract and astragon pulled NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR into the 18 June 2026 demo patch — features originally planned for the main game. On supported hardware those options may also offer frame generation. Read the graphics settings page before you assume a 1060-class card is below minimum because the demo hitchs, especially since this wiki will not invent preset names.

How to test without lying to yourself:

  1. Drive the Mequina city line in the Solaris Urbino 12 electric (passengers, stops, dense streets).
  2. Drive a Tourismo long-distance leg toward Alcaztelar (views, grades, a different load).
  3. Cap the frame rate, then enable DLSS or FSR if the frame time is uneven.
  4. Only then decide whether RAM, GPU, or CPU is the actual wall.

A city-only stutter with a smooth coach run often points at simulation load (traffic, pedestrians, stops). A stutter that vanishes when upscalers go on points at GPU fill. A machine that meets minimum on paper and still hitches after the 18 June 2026 patch may simply be waiting on launch polish — the developers have said the demo is not the final version.

Use the demo guide for what content is in that build, and the demo patches page for what changed on 18 June 2026 (DLSS/FSR, fewer repeated voice lines, Logitech G923 Xbox wheel improvement).

CPU, RAM, and GPU in plain language

CPU. The Steam minimum is a 12th-gen Intel i3 or a Ryzen 5 2600X. That is enough to boot and drive, not a promise of a packed Mequina rush hour at high frame rates. The recommended i7-14100KF / Ryzen 5 9600X is the headroom line for busy districts and co-op. 4-player online co-op with crossplay adds other people’s buses and roles (driver, inspector, passenger) to the same world; budget a bit more CPU if you host.

RAM. 16 GB is the Steam minimum. 32 GB is recommended. Unreal Engine 5 plus a living city will eat background Chrome tabs. Close overlays you do not need before you blame the GPU.

GPU. GTX 1060 / RX 580 is the Steam floor and DirectX 12 is required. DLSS (NVIDIA) and FSR (AMD, and often usable more widely depending on the implementation) are the first settings to try if you sit near that floor. A 2080 Ti / 7800 XT-class card is the Steam recommended picture, not a secret 4K guarantee.

Laptop caveats. Steam does not publish a laptop SKU list. Match the desktop names as closely as you can, watch thermals, and plug in. This page will not invent a “RTX 4050 laptop = recommended” row.

Wheels, pads, and extra load

A steering wheel does not change the Steam table, but a heavy USB stack plus overlays can. If you plan to use a wheel, read steering wheels after this page. Force-feedback software (G HUB and similar) has been a community variable in other sims; keep it updated, then still check in-game sensitivity.

Buying advice that stays honest

  • If you are under the Steam minimum (Windows 10 only, 8 GB RAM, DX11-only GPU), this is the wrong generation to stretch.
  • If you meet minimum, install the demo, turn on DLSS or FSR, and judge frame time on both a city line and a coach leg.
  • If you sit between minimum and recommended, 32 GB of RAM is the cheapest comfort upgrade this table implies.
  • If the demo is rough on a card that meets recommended, wait for launch polish before you replace that card. The build you are testing is still a demo.

When the picture is stable, leave the spec sheet and go drive. The graphics settings page is the next click if you are already installed. The getting started guide is the next click if the PC is fine and you need Felicia Bay habits instead of hardware rows.

If the demo is uneven, try an upscaler and a frame cap before you open a store tab for a new GPU. Steam’s table is the citation; your frame time on the Mequina city line is the verdict that actually matters.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Bus Simulator 27.

What are the Steam minimum specs for Bus Simulator 27?

Windows 11 64-bit, Core i3-12100 or Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1060 or RX 580, DirectX 12, and 20 GB of storage.

What are the Steam recommended specs?

Windows 11 64-bit, Core i7-14100KF or Ryzen 5 9600X, 32 GB RAM, GTX 2080 Ti or RX 7800 XT, DirectX 12, and 20 GB of storage.

Why do Epic or other sites show different requirements?

Store pages can differ. This wiki cites Steam. Re-check the storefront you will buy from; do not merge several tables into one.

Is the Steam demo a fair performance test?

It is the only public test, and it is a beta-status build. The 18 June 2026 patch added DLSS and FSR after performance feedback. Launch builds can still change.

Does co-op need a stronger PC?

Steam does not publish a separate co-op table. Hosting 4-player online co-op adds more simulation. If you host, prefer the recommended RAM and CPU line.

Where should I go if the demo stutters?

Open the graphics settings page for DLSS, FSR, and frame-generation notes, and the demo patches page for the 18 June 2026 changes.
