Coach Routes in Bus Simulator 27
The series’ first licensed coaches, the Mequina–Alcaztelar run, and how intercity driving differs from city work.
Licensed coach buses are new to this numbered series. Bus Simulator 27 is scheduled to launch with long-distance vehicles and cross-country routes that connect Felicia Bay’s twin cities with surrounding towns and villages. Confirmed coaches for the base game include the Mercedes-Benz Tourismo, the Scania Irizar i8, and the MAN Lion’s Coach. The Steam demo lets you rehearse one of those bodies — the Tourismo — on Mequina to Alcaztelar and the return. Everything else waits for the 8 September 2026 full launch or listed DLC.
If you have not driven the demo coach yet, follow the demo walkthrough first. If you still mix up drive mode and doors, read how to drive and controls before you take a coach onto a mountain road.
Why coaches change the job
City work in Mequina is stop-dense: individual doors, ramps, battery cycle on the Urbino 12 electric, mirrors against parked cars. Coach work is distance. Official trailers show coastal roads, mountain passes, and fewer stops with a different passenger mix — tourists, students, business travellers, day trippers in the demo’s own briefing. You still log into the bus computer and serve a line. You do not suddenly become a sightseeing camera.
Brake earlier than the city rigid taught you. Bind the speed limiter before the first downhill. Indicate before you leave a lay-by. The Tourismo occupies more of the lane than a 12 m city bus; the right-hand mirror is not optional.
Mercedes-Benz Tourismo (demo coach)
The Tourismo is the playable intercity cab in the demo and the coach most players will form habits on. Use it to learn length, cruise, and the Mequina–Alcaztelar geography. Do not treat it as a proxy for every coach. It is one licensed model. Keep notes on where you braked too late; those notes transfer, the exact dashboard does not.
Demo missions are a pair: Mequina to Alcaztelar, then Alcaztelar back to Mequina. Finish both. Turning around at the first viewpoint skips the mountain-framed city you are supposed to meet.
Scania Irizar i8 and MAN Lion’s Coach
Both are confirmed for the base game. Official materials do not publish a full spec sheet for either in this wiki’s source list, so this page does not invent seat counts, engines, or liveries. What you can plan: they are the other two named long-distance options at launch alongside the Tourismo. When the coach fleet page ranks them, use that ranking for company buying; use this page for the job they share — intercity service across Felicia Bay.
Until 8 September 2026 you cannot drive them. Do not expect the demo menu to hide an i8 unlock.
Mercedes-Benz Intouro and later coaches
The Mercedes-Benz Intouro is Year 1 DLC, not a base-game demo bus. It arrives through the Year 1 Season Pass. A FlixBus Coach Expansion is listed later in that pass, reported for July 2027. Neither belongs in a launch-day garage unless you bought Year 1 / season pass content and that pack has actually dropped. Pre-order Deluxe Pack vehicles — HESS lighTram 12 Plug and Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV — are not coaches; do not park them on this page’s shopping list.
The Mequina–Alcaztelar run
Mequina sits on the coast. Alcaztelar sits between mountain ranges. The demo’s long-distance pair is the only playable version of that contrast. Official map talk adds scenic coastal roads, rugged mountain passes, and cross-country links to towns and villages. Dynamic weather and a day/night cycle apply on the coach the same way they apply in the city; rain on a pass is a limiter problem, not a screenshot.
Heavy traffic, accidents, and roadworks can still force a new path. A coach has fewer doors to hide behind when you are late. Recover on speed and line choice, not by skipping a stop that still has passengers.
When the route creator opens at launch, this corridor is the obvious first custom intercity. Build recovery time into the timetable the way company management describes. If you play multiplayer, putting one player on this coach while another stays on a Mequina city line is the cleanest published split.
Choosing coaches versus city buses
Do not buy a coach to solve a city frequency problem. City buses — rigid, articulated, double-decker, electric, CNG, hydrogen — belong on district streets. Coaches belong on the legs that leave those streets. The demo teaches that split with two vehicles. The full 45+ roster from 13 manufacturers will tempt you to ignore it. Don’t.
Confirmed brands that matter here are Mercedes-Benz, Scania, and MAN for the named coaches, plus IVECO BUS, Volvo, and the rest of the licensed list for the wider fleet. This page will not invent a 13th manufacturer name or an unconfirmed coach model.
Practice plan
- Finish the demo tutorial and City Drive so doors and the computer are automatic. 2. Bind limiter, indicators, and drive mode from controls. 3. Run Mequina to Alcaztelar without chasing the scenery camera. 4. Run the return. 5. Read Felicia Bay so you know why the gradient changed. 6. At launch, compare Tourismo, Irizar i8, and Lion’s Coach on the coach fleet page before you spend company money.
Input still matters at coach speed. Wheel support is work in progress toward launch; check steering wheels if you plan to drive intercity on a G29 or G923. PC spec for stable mountains is on system requirements. Edition timing — Standard $29.99, Year 1 $49.99, Deluxe Pack ending at launch — is on pre-order and Getting Started.
The guides hub is the index if you need city procedure again. Coaches are the new job in this sequel. Learn them on the Tourismo you can already drive, not on a model that is still a store image.
