Year 1 Advance Access

Advance Access is the five-day head start for Bus Simulator 27 Year 1 Edition owners. Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox store copy all say the same thing: buy Year 1 and you play from 3 September 2026; the full launch for every edition is 8 September 2026. This is not a separate Early Access program on Steam’s old definition. It is a timed unlock attached to one SKU.

Standard Edition ($29.99) waits for 8 September. Year 1 Edition ($49.99) is the game plus the Year 1 Season Pass, and it is the SKU that carries Advance Access. Pre-order either edition before launch and you still get the Deluxe Pack (HESS lighTram 12 Plug, Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV, four skins). Compare prices on the pre-order page.

Until 8 September 2026 this wiki still treats the full game as upcoming. Advance Access week is a head start for one edition, not a substitute for the public launch. Do not describe the Standard SKU as unlocked on 3 September.

Who actually gets in

  • Year 1 Edition on Steam, Epic, Microsoft Store, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S: unlock 3 September 2026.
  • Standard Edition on those same platforms: unlock 8 September 2026.
  • Steam demo (app 4311090): already playable since 15 June 2026, independent of Advance Access.

PlayStation Store text adds that Year 1 pre-orders include the Deluxe Pack and five days of pre-access, with the offer ending at launch. Xbox lists Year 1’s release date as 9/3/2026 for that edition, matching the head start, while the public game remains 8 September.

If a store says you are “too early,” you are on Standard or the unlock window has not opened. That message showed up in community chats around preview streams. Check the SKU, not the wiki’s clock.

What Advance Access is for

Use the five days as a rehearsal of the full loop the demo locked: Story, Career, and Sandbox, hired drivers, the route creator, and more of the 45+ bus roster. The demo already taught doors and the Mequina–Alcaztelar coach. Advance Access is where company management should stop being a briefing.

Co-op still needs friends on a compatible build. Crossplay is a full-game promise; confirm your platform’s online subscription if you play on console. See multiplayer.

PC players should still read system requirements and graphics settings before blaming Advance Access for a stutter. The June demo needed a DLSS/FSR patch. The launch build should be better; it is not a reason to skip the spec check.

What it is not

It is not a beta you apply for. Closed beta signups already closed. It is not a Steam Early Access months-long branch. It is not included with Standard. It does not replace the 8 September date on the release date page.

Season Pass content (Intouro, bus packs, cosmetics, FlixBus expansion later in Year 1) is not the same as Advance Access. You can own the pass and still wait for each DLC drop. See season pass.

How to prepare the day before

  1. Confirm you bought Year 1, not Standard.
  2. Install on the platform you will actually play. Cross-saves are not documented here.
  3. Run the demo once more if you have not touched a cab since June.
  4. Print controls and a Getting Started pass.
  5. Agree with co-op partners on Story versus Career before anyone hosts.

This wiki is unofficial. When Steam’s unlock clock ticks, trust the client over a timestamp in an article. After 8 September 2026 we will fold Advance Access notes into launch-week coverage instead of keeping a separate countdown.
