Bus Simulator 27 Roles

Driving is the main job in Bus Simulator 27, but official feature lists name three roles: driver, inspector, and passenger. You can also leave the vehicle and walk. Xbox Wire puts it plainly: besides the streets on foot, you can enjoy a ride as a passenger or work as an inspector and check tickets. Hidden collectibles and landmarks sit on that same loop.

Those roles are full-game tools. The Steam demo lets you rehearse the cab and, in some footage, a ticket sale UI. Do not assume every inspector animation is in the Next Fest slice. The 8 September 2026 launch is when the feature list is supposed to match the box. Year 1 Advance Access starts 3 September 2026.

Driver

Driver is the default. You power the bus, pick Drive or a gear, work doors, hit GPS stops, and keep a timetable. Read controls and how to drive before you worry about inspector kits. City work and coach routes are both driver jobs with different lengths and speeds.

In-bus events and heavy traffic sit on the driver. Official copy tells you to look after passengers and deal with accidents on the route. That is still you in the seat, not a separate role screen.

Inspector

Inspector is the ticket check. PlayStation and Xbox store text: become a ticket inspector or board as a passenger when you want a change of pace. Use it to learn stop spacing on Felicia Bay without managing a whole timetable, or to police fares on a friend’s co-op line.

Demo footage of selling a ticket from the cab is not the same as walking the aisle as inspector. Until the full game is in players’ hands, this wiki will not invent a fine table or a button map for punching tickets. When those bindings appear, they will land on the controls page.

Inspector is a good co-op split: one player drives, one checks fares, two ride or walk. See multiplayer.

Passenger

Passenger is the sightseeing seat. Official pages invite you to take a ride. It is the fastest way to watch AI or a friend drive a new coach body from the fleet without fighting the wheel. Default demo bindings include a key to leave a passenger seat; that is the on-foot exit, not a story skip.

Passenger is also how you scout a district before you fund a Career line. Ride someone else’s company route, note where people board, then build your own timetable.

On foot, landmarks, collectibles

Xbox Wire: around 20 districts, landmarks you collect by passing them on a route or exploring the city on foot. Steam: exit the bus and search for points of interest and hidden collectibles. Demo videos add a prompt to look for historical buildings, monuments, and nature sites that unlock on interact.

Practical habits:

• Park or finish a stop before you run off. Official pages have not published a penalty for leaving passengers waiting.
• Collect from the driver’s seat by routing past a landmark when you can. Walk only for the ones the road does not touch.
• Sandbox is the playlist that removes money and rules for this hunt. Story and Career still allow walking. See game modes.

This wiki does not list fake collectible coordinates. When a live map is public after launch, we will extend this section instead of guessing forests.

How the roles fit launch week

First hour: driver only. Getting Started and the demo are cab exams. After you can serve a Mequina line, try passenger on a friend’s coach. Inspector comes third, when you care about fares more than mirrors.
